Around eight miles from central Brimingham lies the town of Sutton Coldfield, which is home to more than 100,000 inhabitants.
With a wide array of popular retail areas, from the large glass-roofed Sutton Coldfield Mall to the smaller Red Rose Centre to the independent shops of New Hall Walk among others, the town is a haven for local shoppers.
The town also has an extremely high concentration of golf courses, the most famous of which being The Belfry just on the outskirts, which has played host to The Ryder Cup on a number of occasions.
For those looking for a more tranquil experience, Sutton Coldfield is home to the largest urban park in Britain outside the capital, Sutton Park. This huge stretch of beautiful parkland is just one of many fine green spaces around Sutton Coldfield, including several nature reserves and country parks at the edge of town.
